What is multi-factor authentication?

• It’s that thing where you sign in to a thing using your username and password, and then a screen pops up asking you for another method to authenticate (options here are a phone call, text message, mobile app notification, or using a Second Harvest provided keychain token – let Jordan know if you want one of those!)

Which applications use multi-factor authentication?

• Most of the web-based applications & communication tools we use at Second Harvest:
• Outlook
• SharePoint
• Salesforce
• Zoom
• And several others on the way…

How often will I need to use another factor to authenticate?

• You will be asked to provide a second factor for authentication ~ once a month per application per device (e.g. once for SharePoint from your laptop, but another time for outlook on your phone, etc).
• If you are signing in from one of our physical locations (Curtner, Bing, Cypress, or Brennan), you will not be asked to provide a second factor.
